Earlier, Senator Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel Jr., said to some reporters that he will run for the Senate without any help.
- Koko Pimentel and Migz Zubiri are now allies - Juan Manuel Zubiri resigned to the senate after the nationwide fraud surfaced and he did this as he doesn’t have any participation to the electoral sabotage.
Now, two of the seniors of UNA said that they were saddened by the decision of the senator, but they are respecting the move.
In an interview by the dzMM, former president Joseph Ejercito Estrada said that he is disappointed by the decision of Koko, but he is respecting it and he remains proud of his godson.
Sabi ko sa aking inaanak, at ipinagmamalaki kong inaanak ko sya, nakakapanghinayang at malaking bagay na nawala sya sa UNA dahil magaling syang senador at Bar topnotcher.
He added that he tried his best to keep Pimentel in the party, but the latter decided not to work with Zubiri.
Until now, Estrada still believes that Zubiri is innocent of the nationwide electoral fraud.
On a separate interview by the ANC, Vice President Jejomar Binay said that he is also saddened by the news. He added that despite that he is respecting the decision of his ally, they still have to talk when he got home.
As of now, Binay is in Saudi Arabia to convey the Philippines’ condolences on the passing of Crown Prince Nayef bin Abdul-Aziz al-Saud. He will be back on July 7.
In another separate interview, the Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile said that he will have his hands extended to Koko and all the younger senator has to do is to ask help.
